I came here a few years ago for new tires they charged me an exorbitant amount for the service and on top of that charged me for a bunch of extra BS that I didn’t ask for. Despite this premium cost I had a new tire blowout the next day. They tried to blame my rims and sell me $1,000 of new rims. Today I went to one of the good tire shops in Ames only to find out trickle gave me the wrong tire size! If you value your health and safety on the road and don’t want to be scammed I suggest going elsewhere. Big O was a much better experience and they didn’t try and scam me into making unnecessary repairs. If you do go here I suggest checking your side door and verifying that these tire “experts” put the right tire on.

I just paid 95 DOLLARS FOR AN OIL CHANGE for a compact sedan... UPDATE: They called me back and told me that there had been an issue with the amount they had charged me originally, and they reimbursed me $32. So the oil change was $63 in the end.

I had a flat tire while traveling through Ames and didn't want to drive much on my spare. Trickles was so nice and got the tire patched and back on my car super quickly. Great customer service!

I am a 3rd generation costumer of Trickle’s Tire & Automotive and I have never been disappointed. Every time I enter this family owned shop, I am greeted with a friendly smile and helpful employees. Trickle’s is incredibly honest, dependable, and sincere. There is no upselling, no pressure, just real advice you can trust. They always take the time to explain everything very clearly and make sure I am well taken care of. Their customer service goes above and beyond. The work is done in a timely manner, prices are fair and the owners take pride in treating people right. We are lucky to have a family owned business in Ames for generations. I can’t stress enough the importance of shopping local and checking this shop out. Trickle’s is a true gem with absolutely outstanding service! I will recommend them to everyone I know!

We stopped in due to the Sinclair across the street blowing out our tire sidewall; the sinclair driveway entrance is atrocious! We explained what we needed; just a cheap tire to keep us rolling. And Darwin was super accommodating! We got a used tire, mounted, and everything for an extremely good deal! They made an extra effort to work with us in a pinch. They were honest, and straightforward. We were in and out in under an hour! I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area!
